PostHeaderIcon What kind of laptop should I get for school: A mac or PC laptop?

I am starting my masters program and I can’t decide what type of laptop to get. Some say a mac others say PC.

Macbook pro.

Definitely.

Depends on what you degree will be in. Most colleges recommend a PC, unless you are getting into filmmaking.

tricky question. many would say pc but now mac is making a comeback. i have a pc laptop and its ok. if i could change i would go with the mac. it has the newest technology and great memory and fast handling for a masters program.

Mac, if you are in school, you get a free iPod Nano, and with a PC, you get a free load of viruses and a blue screen.

well usually macs are more expensive so if you buy a pc laptop i suppose if its stolen, it wont be that bad.

I would get a tablet PC. It makes note-taking extremely easy. I have been using them for 3 years now.

definately buy a mac. u dont have ot get the pro, but the macbooks are reasonably priced, very powerful, and lightweight. the isight camera is cool too. All of the school related programs like microsoft office can be inexpensively purchased for the mac, and the mac has a lot of cool software that comes with it (the mac itself). Macs ARE well supported, and u can buy applecare which is a great warrenty for all apple products. It comes with extensicve help functions and the forums and contacts on the website are great. Plus, like the ads say, macs simply dont get viruses! It has been said that pcs are for business and macs are for play, but that is no longer true. Macs can do anything business related pcs can do. They only lack slightly in comparison to the pcs in terms of large network capability. Hope this helps. Make sure that whatever uj buy can run the programs the school requires.

I’d say pc b/c mac isn’t that well supported, and plus pc’s have better antivirus care.
