What laptops are compatible with a Compaq Presario V2000 hard drive?
I have a Compaq Presario V2000 and the dc jack has become loose and can no longer be charged. I don’t want to pay to get it fixed because there’s a chance that it may be irreparable. For a similar amount of money, I think I can find a used laptop to just put my hard drive into. So does anyone know what other laptops are compatible with my hard drive?
Just find out whether the hard drive is IDE or SATA. Then buy an used laptop that fits IDE or SATA.

What is the best international warranty/support service for laptops?
I will need to buy a laptop since I will be moving to Europe, Netherlands or the UK depending where I decide to go for my postgraduate studies. I have already seen several laptops, especially about reliability, because I will be two years in another continent, but now I am wondering which manufacturer has the best international service if something goes wrong. How to set up a wireless LAN between two laptops?
I have no clue on how to do this, so any help would be appreciated. I don’t have any routers or anything like that, just the laptops. Also is it possible to set up LAN between three or four laptops at once?

If you want to connect the wireless you have to set up an adhoc connections. If you want to connect them by wire you have to buy a switch.

any mid to high-end core 2 runs great in a laptop right now. In fact, I bought one the other day (T7100 core 2) The core 2 uses a 65nm process compared to the older 90nm process. This means that the chip die holds smaller transistors. Smaller transistors = less energy = less heat = greater performance!
