I’m planning to buy new desktop computer. I generally need it to store lots of files and for home works. Thanks!

just buy a relativly cheap computer.
-Maybe look for a core i3 processor, or something dualcore
-an Nvidia card if youre into gameing,
-or an ATI card if you watch or stream alot of videos
-and at least 500gb of hard drive space

I currently have the cable and modem directly connected to my laptop. However, I need my internet to be connected to my desktop in another room. What do i need to do? Do I just need to get a router? Or Do I need to get a router and wireless card for my desktop?

If your laptop has a wireless card in it(which most do) just get a router and hook it up the desktop and run the laptop wirelessly.

Right, im 16 years old and more technically able then my mum, so i have been told to ‘mend’ the familly desktop PC. The network is fine as i am on my laptop at the minuite, but as the desktop is not wirelessly enabled I have two wireless adapter things, a netgear WG111T and a Belkin one, both have no driver software. I really have no clue how to do this, so any help would be really helpful.

In Windows XP u will need to hav drivers….search google
after that connect it

go to network connections from control panel
select ur adapter
go to properties
double click on TCPIP (Vr 4)
Enter IP: 192.168.10.1
Subnet Musk: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.10.2

Now go to the laptop
go to network connections from control panel
select ur adapter
go to properties
double click on TCPIP (Vr 4)
Enter IP: 192.168.10.2
Subnet Musk: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.10.1

Enable Both adapters
make sure u r under the same named workgroup,to do so
right click on my Computer…properties….advanced settings….computer name.
Now go to network & select setup a new network…..

I currently have one desktop computer connected to the internet via a broadband router and a wireless router is connected to that. If I wanted to connect another desktop to the internet using the wireless how would I go about doing that?

I have looked into the USB wireless thingy, is that what I want? Will that allow the desktop to be connect to the internet?

A wireless usb toggle will allow that computer to connect to the wireless signal being delivered by your wireless router, as long as the router has an active connection. Most are simple and easy to use. Or you can just plug another ehternet cable into it.

If you are using the wireless toggle, you may need to enter a wireless password (known as the WEP key) if your wireless router has one. Some come with a password, some do not.

I would personally go with the USB wireless toggle, they’re pretty cheap these days.

I want to use Outlook in my desktop and laptop. But both must reflect the same information and the emails that are saved in either of them. I first configured the desktop outlook and now when I configured the emails on my laptop it does not show all the current emails which are saved on my outlook on the desktop. How can I view both at the same time which reflect the same information?

I’m sick of all these so called remote desktop programs and stuff that never work. Can ANYONE AT ALL please tell me how to connect to a remote desktop? I need to connect to a computer in MO from my computer here in KY. Both are running Windows Vista. I do not want anything that costs money to buy because none of them that I tried so far even work like they advertise.

You may need to make sure it’s enabled on both PCs and the firewall allows it to connect. If the one you are trying to connect to is behind a router, you will need to enable port forwarding.

I use UltraVNC to connect to remote clients. Fast and simple. Port forwarding will need to be enabled also if behind a router.

It works fine on my desktop, because I thought I would check to see and everything loaded right and all the pictures loaded. How comes on my lap top certain pictures of mine and my friend’s won’t show up? Also when I write in my blog, words get mixed up like all messed together on my laptop, but it’s normal on my desktop. What can I do to get it to load right on my laptop?

Maybe a malware has entered your laptop. Better install anti-spyware applications and keep it updated.

I have a desktop sun light lamp, a lamp that simuates natural light. It says 27 W on the bulb. Can I use this as a growlight to grow herbs?

If this is not suitable, can anyone suggest a low-heat alternative? I don’t want my seeds to suffer because of ineadequate lighting, but I’ve heard that these lamps are good enough for growing.

It would help plants, but not very many. I looked at grow lamps on the Internet, and they started at 250 watts.
